Trendset Originals LLC Recalls Girls’ Hooded Jackets with Drawstrings Due to Strangulation and Entanglement Hazards
Recall Overview
| Recall Date | |
|---|---|
| Product | Girls’ hooded jackets |
| Units | About 2,400 of the Marci & Me brand and an unknown number of the Shampoo brand. |
| Hazards | The hooded jackets have a drawstring through the hood that can pose a strangulation hazard to children. The sweater jackets have a drawstring through the waist that can pose an entanglement hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (which were incorporated into an industry voluntary standard in 1997) to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts. |
| Remedies | Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the jackets to eliminate the hazard. Consumers can also return the jackets to any Burlington Coat Factory store for a full refund. |
