Girls' Hooded Sweatshirts with Drawstrings Recalled by LANY Group Due to Strangulation Hazard; Sold Exclusively at dd's Discounts

Girls' hooded sweatshirt with drawstring

Goddess Hooded Sweatshirts with drawstrings

Recall Date: May 8th, 2012
Type: Drawstrings
Units: About 210
Hazards: The sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood which poses a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines about drawstrings in children's upper outerwear. In 1997, those guidelines were incorporated into a voluntary standard. Then, in July 2011, based on the guidelines and voluntary standard, CPSC issued a federal regulation. CPSC's actions demonstrate a commitment to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on neck and waist drawstrings in upper outerwear, such as jackets and sweatshirts.
Remedies: Refund
Consumers should immediately remove the drawstring to eliminate the hazard or return the sweatshirts to a dd's Discounts store for a full refund.

Description

The girls' sweatshirts zip up the front and have a hood with a drawstring. The sweatshirts are red with gold hearts, stars and crowns. They were sold in children's sizes 4T through 12. "Goddess" is printed on a label at the neck.
